ESOL Skills for Life is designed for people who are settled or want to settle in the UK.
Our ESOL courses are accredited by City & Guilds. They are designed to cover the standards of the ESOL curriculum with sufficient range, breadth and depth to reflect properly the use of the English language in real world situations, appropriate to the needs of the learners.

These qualifications have a focus on applying language skills in everyday UK situations, emphasising practical application of skills needed to succeed in everyday life and study in the UK. The qualifications offer easy access and progression for potential learners. The assessment of these qualifications is primarily through integrated assignments at Entry 1, Entry 2 and Entry 3, which combine modes of language as they are in real life. Levels 1 and 2 are assessed by the National Adult Literacy test and a portfolio of evidence.

I General English Courses
We have five different levels, ranging from elementary through to an advanced and you can start on any Monday. About one third of class time is dedicated to conversation and the remainder covers the other disciplines. These are good all-round courses to give a basic knowledge of English or to improve on skills that are already present. There is a course here to suit everybody.

II Cambridge and IELTS Exam Courses
We offer courses to prepare you for the prestigious Cambridge First Certificate and Advanced Certificate Examinations. These are excellent academic qualifications which are recognised all over the World. The course is essential for students who require an English qualification for their chosen career. The IELTS course is the minimum requirement for acceptance by British Universities on academic courses. The IELTS course runs for 4 weeks and the Cambridge courses run for 12 weeks. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a test to measure your level of proficiency of English and indicates whether you are ready to study or train in English. It is the most important exam recognised by British Universities for acceptance on academic courses: they require a score of around 6-7 on the IELTS scoring system. The exam can be taken most months and the results take only ten days to receive.

The exam not only tests grammar and vocabulary but also your listening and written skills. There are four parts to the IELTS test, reading, writing, listening and an interview. There are 2 modules as part of the IELTS, the Academic and the General. You will need to pass the Academic module to study at a University in the UK. The course lasts four weeks and consists of three 50-minute lessons per day. Please contact us for the next start date, these courses can be combined with an academic course.
