Skills for Life are the skills you need to get on at home and at work. In other words the English and maths skills you need for life. Choosing a mobile phone, writing a report or helping your children with their homework all require good Skills for Life. Skills for life can help you improve your skills in the following: |

Who can benefit from Skills for Life learning? |

There are over seven million adults in the UK who have difficulties with maths or reading, writing, understanding and speaking English. Most of us could benefit from improving these skills because; they are rusty through lack of use, the introduction of new technology or because we did not get on at school. To meet your needs, we have designed a Skills for Life programme which allows you to achieve a nationally recognised qualification in numeracy/maths and literacy/English.
Many employers and higher education courses now recognise the tests at Level 2 as an alternative to GCSE. As an example, Higher Level Teaching Assistants need to achieve a level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy. |

Entry requirements, course start dates and fees |

There are no entry requirements for these courses. We run courses throughout the year. To accommodate everyone, courses are run on weekdays, weekends and evenings. Sometimes we have free courses for UK residents and UK/EU nationals. Where courses are paid, we have the following rates: |
